DAY NINE

On Day 9 we visited the American Cemetery in Manila.  Especially important was visiting the name of John's brother Henry, who is probably buried somewhere in the cemetery in an unmarked grave.

We started at the office, with Steve introducing John to Asst. Superintendent Bert Caloud.  Bert told John about what happened to the unidentified bodies from Cabanatuan that were later interred at the cemetery.

 

The wreath covered the MC of HENRY J MCCONNELL's name in this photograph.

 

Tomorrow, Leyte, where half of the group opted for an extension, while the others left us today.
